Koper the Pigeon’s Success.

The message of a pigeon

As I sit here in the park, I cannot help but notice this pigeon that is persistent about getting any crumbs that I drop. Pigeons are not usually that interesting to me but this day is different. Koper the pigeon got me thinking about coping skills. Yes, I already named him because I developed this continual respect for nature with this pigeon

Koper is walking around with one claw that was obviously injured, or maybe not. I try and check my thinking if there is a chance I can misguide my self. Koper was limping but getting around very aggressively.

Koper Adapting

On closer inspection, he looks to have adapted to putting weight through his pigeon leg by flexing his claw to what looked like a ball so it would become more useful to what he needed to do.

Getting food and survival seemed to cause him to adapt and move ahead with his life. A few other pigeons arrived and he was able to get the food as fast as the others.

If Koper had cared about others opinions he may not have survived after hearing what the other pigeons said about him, if we carry this idea this over to humans.

You see, I am wondering if we cared less about what others thought about us, would we progress a lot quicker or try new things if we had challenges like Koper?

He didn’t get around the same way the other pigeons did but he was sure admired by me because he moved forward and got done what he needed to do.

He seemed to be exceeding limitations because of what he needed to do.

Picture of Brad Pittgeon – chosen by Koper to play him in the eventual Koper movie.

Could we move forward with our lives if we didn’t care what others thought?

What is your pigeon message or thinking to yourself when you are faced with life challenges?

Unlike some messages pigeons leave for us that we simply wipe off, this one could be very valuable.
